坐左喺前牛奶公司倉庫門前面嘅一個小朋友發現到有對小白鞋喺旁邊

A boy who sat aside the street corner and bumped into a pair of little white shoes suddenly 

由於好奇心重

Which were being abandoned outside the Old Dairy Farm Depot. With the sense of curiosity, 

佢二話不說就攞左黎著

The boy decided to swap his ruined sneakers into the little white shoes

就係咁，奇怪嘅事就發生了…

And… something strange has happened…. He found it fits!!!

原來對小白鞋有靈性架，係一對識跳舞嘅小白鞋。藉住今次有新歸宿，仲唔好好遊走下中環區?

Wooot! These are an amazing dancing shoes! Let's dance around in Central Western district! 

今次就遊走左(都爹利街)煤氣燈街同域多利皇后街.

These shoes were dancing Duddell Street, and Queen Victoria Street.

說起藝穗會，也許大家都未必有什麼印象，但是相信這幾代人都對張國榮(哥哥)不會感到陌生吧！那麼，你們又知道哥哥和藝穗會有什麼關係嗎？

經典電影《金枝玉葉》就是在藝穗會取景拍攝。電影中，印象最深刻的情節就是在藝穗會的一幕，造就了顧家明 (張國榮) 和林子穎(袁詠儀)的邂逅。

The famous film "He's a Woman, She's a Man" was filmed at the Fringe Club where Sam Koo Gai Ming (Leslie Cheung) ran into Lam Chi Wing (Anita Yuen) in the scene.

藝穗會於1983年進駐後，把倉庫多次翻新修葺，為外牆塗上紅白色，才變成今日的外觀。
In 1983, it had undergone many renovations and printed in red and white since the Club moved in.

政府於2001年頒發文物獎，表揚倉庫見證百年歷史；更於2009年評為一級歷史建築。
The HK government presented the Hong Kong Heritage Awards and listed it as a Grade I historic building in 2001 and 2009 respectively.

現今藝穗會為香港或海外藝術家提供免租金的展覽及表演場地；同時也為藝術愛好者提供一處共聚和欣賞節目的地方。
Today, the Club has become an art space for artists to create and show their work, facilities for exhibitions and performances are offered rent-free to both emerging and professional artist in Hong Kong and from overseas.

藝穗會 Fringe Club

沒錯！就是藝穗會 (Fringe Club)及香港外國紀者會 (Foreign Correspondents' Club)，
位於中環下亞厘畢道和雲咸街交界，近雪廠街南。
Right! This is the Fringe Club and the Foreign Correspondents' Club, located at 2 Lower Albert Road. The back of the building is located along Wyndham Street.

舊牛奶公司倉庫 Old Dairy Farm Depot 

舊牛奶公司倉庫(Old Dairy Farm Depot)或稱為舊牛奶公司寫字樓(Old Dairy Farm Building)，已被列為香港一級歷史建築。

歴史:
舊牛奶公司倉庫建於1892年，樓高3層，由牛奶公司興建，最初只用作冰庫（但這並非雪廠街所指的「雪廠」），當時香港人用作冷藏的冰塊是從中國北部採用船運，在離雲咸街不遠的皇后大道中海邊碼頭卸貨，再用人力拖運到這個冰庫儲藏。

1896年，牛奶公司將總部搬到此處，並先後加建屠場、餡餅生產工場、牛奶分銷中心、零售冰粒雪庫、副食品工場以及鍋爐間等設備。

1913年，原倉庫被翻新為牛奶公司總經理的住所。香港日治時期，日軍曾將倉庫掠奪一空。香港重光後，該址恢復作為牛奶公司總部。

1982年，牛奶公司遷出該倉庫，而牛奶公司則遷往鰂魚涌太古坊德宏大廈迄今，同年香港外國記者會進駐北座，藝穗會則在1983年12月遷入南座。

History:

In 1892, Dairy Farm built a low-rise brick and stucco building on Lower Albert Road in Central for use as a cold storage warehouse. It was designed by Danby & Leigh (now Leigh & Orange). The original depot only comprised about half (the southern part) of the present premises. This warehouse was later renovated and expanded in 1913, 1917 and 1925 to include a dairy shop, a room for meat smoking, a cold storage room for winter clothes and residency for the general manager. The building later evolved into the company headquarters until the company moved in the 1970s.

The Foreign Correspondent's Club started occupying the North Block in 1982. The South Block was acquired by the Hong Kong Fringe Club in 1984. It has undergone many major renovations to make it a vibrant place for contemporary arts since the Fringe Club moved in, in 1983.

大家好，今次SPD4459小白鞋就帶大家去回顧一下舊中區警署和域多利監獄。
Hello everyone, we are going to look back the Old Central Police Station compound in this journal. 

圖1.1 

中區警署內歷史最悠久的建築物是建於一八六四年之大樓(圖1.1)，大樓原高三層，與域多利監獄毗鄰。其後，警署逐漸擴建,面對荷李活道的四層高大樓則於一九一九年加建。它與毗鄰的前中央裁判司署及域多利監獄，組成了一組標誌著法律及紀律的歷史建築群。現時，舊中區警署和域多利監獄為香港的法定古蹟。

舊中區警署屬後維多利亞風格，其紅磚牆、花崗石雕刻以及巨型圓柱最為特別；而裡頭又有鍛鐵陽台，以及花崗石建成的地板、樓梯，也值得一看。

近年來，香港政府致力推廣保育和活化古蹟, 所以這些歷史建築群現正在活化，預計於2015年底重新開放。(圖1.2, 1.3)

The Old central Police Station, which is the oldest structure within the compound is a barrack block built in 1864. Nowadays, the police station and prison are a Declared Monument in Hong Kong.It is a three-storey building constructed adjacent to Victoria Prison. A storey was later added to the block in 1905. In 1919, Headquarters Block facing Hollywood Road was constructed.

The late-Victorian style building is notable for its red brick walls, granite features and the imposing columns in its entrance hall. The barracks blocks at the left of the main entrance to the Old Central Police Station were built in 1860 and 1913. These have impressive granite staircases and wrought-iron balconies.

In recent years, the Hong Kong Government is committed to the promotion of heritage conservation and revitalization, these historic buildings are being activated, is expected to re-open at the end of 2015.

域多利監獄於一八四一年落成，是香港開埠初期最先以耐久物料建造的建築物。第二次世界大戰期間，監獄內大部分建築物因受轟炸而嚴重損毀。當局進行修復後，於一九四六年重開作監獄之用。(圖1.4)

Built in 1841, Victoria Prison was understood to be the first western building constructed of durable material in Hong Kong. Most of the buildings within the compound were damaged by bombing during the Second World War. The Prison was reopened in 1946 after repairs.

目前，域多利監獄正進行活化工程, 於2015年底, 域多利監獄會以全新臉孔呈現在大家眼前, 密切期待。見(圖1.5)

摩羅街，摩羅街，相信身為香港人的你一定知道這街道的存在，但有多少人清楚這街道名的由來和歷史呢？就讓小白鞋來告訴你吧！
Lascar Row, Lascar Row, I believe you must have heard about this street if you are a Hong Kong-er. However, how many of you know the history behind it? Lets find it out with "The Little White Shoes"!

香港開埠初期，不少印度水手與士兵喜歡在此聚集擺賣貨品，當時香港人已喜歡把印度人稱為「嚤囉」（信奉錫克教的印度人），因此此街便被稱為摩羅街。

In early Hong Kong, many Indian sailors and soldiers love hawking in this area. Hong Kong-ers love calling them as "嚤囉" (Indian who believe in Sikhism) at that time，therefore, this street was named as Lascar Row (摩羅街).

其實「嚤囉」有對印度和巴基斯坦等種族的歧視意味，因而曾被要求改街道。但時至今日，其街道名都沒有因而改變，因為它記載了一部份中西區的歷史。

Actually Lascar Row (嚤囉)  has been requested to change this name because it carries the meaning of races discrimination. Apparently，the street's name did not changed as it record part of the history of Central and Western District.

從港鐵中環站 D2出口右轉至戲院里，沿皇后大道中往中環中心方向走，然後搭乘中環至半山自動扶梯往荷李活道。或在金鐘太古廣場外乘26號巴士，至荷李活道在文武廟附近下車。

MTR Central Station, Exit D2. Turn right onto Theatre Lane and walk along Queen's Road Central towards The Center. Then take the Central Mid - Levels Escalator to Hollywood Road .
