孫中山紀念館 Dr Sun Yat-Sen Museum (2)

之前同大家介紹完孫中山紀念館既歷史之後，係咪好期待裏面有咩睇呢？唔使心急，宜家小白鞋就帶大家入去孫中山紀念館入面！紀念館會放置不同既展覧，當中一部份係常設展覧，另一部份係限期展覧。

After learning the history of Dr Sun Yat-Sen Museum, you guys must be curious about what inside the museum. Now, Little Whit Shoes will bring you into the museum. The museum has different exhibitions, part of them are permanent and part of them are temporary with specified time schedule. 

首先帶大家睇下常設展覧「孫中山與近代中國」。呢個展區主要講述孫先生點樣由一個醫科學生搖身一變成為救國的革命家，入面除左有一啲珍貴既書籍、相片外，仲有多件復原複制既文物。有關既文物則要大家親自到紀念館睇喇！

First, let's have a look in "Dr Sun Yat-sen and Modern China" Permanent Exhibition. This exhibition talks about the transformation of Dr Sun from a medical student to a renowned revolutionary leader. Besides some books, there are also historical photography.

至於限期展覧，最近則有「館藏選粹 — 百年甘棠第」展覽，講述甘棠第落成一百周年建築的歷史同變化；「黃埔軍校－近代中國軍事人才的搖籃」展覽就解釋軍校成立與孫中山的革命事業之間的密切關係。展覧詳程如下：

For the temporary exhibition, there are "Collection Highlights : A Century of Kom Tong Hall" Exhibition and "The Whampoa Military Academy : Modern China's Crucible for Military Talent" Exhibition. First one is about the 100th anniversary of Kom Tong Hall and the second is about the tight relationship between establishment of academy and Sun's revolutionary campaign. More details below.

參觀人士可使用中環港鐵站D1或D2出口往中環至半山扶手電梯至堅道，再沿行人路向西步行約5分鐘到紀念館。

Visitors can take Exit D1 or D2 of Central Station to the Mid-Levels Escalator from Central to Caine Road, and walk westwards along the pavement for around 5 minutes.

傳說中最古舊既西式建築…

S香港係一個集合中西宗教傳統習俗既地區，係西方宗教方面就以基督教最為活躍。而你又知吾知最古舊既西式建築位於邊到呢？

登登登登，就係呢座位於中環花園道既聖約翰座堂喇。

Hong Kong is comprised of Chinese and Western religion and culture. In terms of Western religions, Christianity is most popular one in Hong Kong. in that case, do you know where is the most oldest  western style building located?

Haha,  St. John's Cathedral is that one locating in  Garden Road, Central.

聖約翰座堂係香港現存最古老既西式教會建築物，於1847年由當時既香港總督戴維斯爵士奠基，教堂設計揉合了13世紀的早期英格蘭式以及華麗哥德式建築風格。

As the oldest surviving Western ecclesiastical building in the city, its founding stone was laid by Governor Davis a mere six years after the British took possession of Hong Kong. The building you see today was completed in 1849 and extended in 1873. The cross-shaped structure was created in the styles of 13^th century Early English and Decorated Gothic.

1941年香港淪陷，聖約翰座堂曾遭日軍佔領並成為日本人的會所，更遭受嚴重破壞。目前教堂所見既內部裝潢，大部分都是戰後設計的。座堂曾歷多次修復和改建，於1996年被列為法定古蹟。

On Christmas morning in 1941, a dedicated congregation of 100 gathered for the cathedral’s last mass before Japanese shells rained upon the city. When Hong Kong fell, the cathedral was commandeered by the occupying forces and turned into a club. Many of its congregation were interred and services resumed when the war ended in 1945. In 1996, it was being a Declared Monuments.

Nowadays,  St John's Cathedral stands in the heart of the city's financial downtown district but  rooting in the traditions of Anglicanism and yet at the same time exercising ministries which reach out into the wider life of the community.  there are series activities comprise of Said Eucharist, sung Eucharist, Holy Eucharist and some relevant religious talks are for public. Besides, St John's Cathedral  has taking part in outreach ministries proactively lead to serve different needs in Hong Kong such as the Counselling service, Helpers for Domestic Helpers, HIV education Centre, The mission for Migrant Workers and the Nest. 

                                    

另外，由於聖約翰座堂既獨特華麗建築風格，每年都有唔少教友新人選揀係到舉行婚禮，所以係到排期分分鐘耐過你排期登記注冊啊！

Moreover, because of the special style of the cross-shaped structure, there are vast of couples hold a wedding in St John's. Thus, you have to pre-book the service very early !!!

前往方法：

從港鐵中環站D1出口，沿畢打街前往皇后大道中，再沿皇后大道中右轉入 炮台里即至，行程約10分鐘。

於中環6號碼頭外的天星碼頭巴士站乘15C號巴士，至中環花園道山下纜車站， 沿花園道步行前往。

1. MTR Central Station Exit D1 and walk along Pedder Street to Queen's Road Central. Walk along Queen's Road Central to Battery Street.

永樂街和文咸西街兩條街道，是香港最大的海味乾貨集散地。昔日，這裡有不少「南北行」*經營中國內地土產及雜貨買賣；如今，依然還有很多裝潢老舊的老字號售賣參茸海味。

永樂街、文咸西街
香港人注重飲食，參茸海味和燕窩等具有調養療效的食材十分風行。在德輔道西附近的永樂街及文咸西街一帶，參茸燕窩店林立，要選購這些滋補養生食品，這兒是不二之選。部分商鋪還有出售自製的燕窩甜點，不妨一試。

於早期年代，參茸燕窩街的建築多樓高三層。工人會將參茸海味放在屋頂曬乾。曬乾後，將貨品左地下的商鋪中出售。而中間的一層作為住宅

現今，參茸海味多置於街上將其曬乾。

在參茸燕窩街的店舖都有一個特色, 它們都會建高一級。因為香港雨水多，不時受到水浸的威脅。為了減少損失，店舖會建高一級以防止參茸海味和燕窩沾濕。

今日走走上環區，繼續發掘古蹟地方！

高陞街，是逾百年歷史的藥材街，以售賣中藥材聞名，故稱「藥材街」，亦是香港其中一個中藥材批發中心。位於香港上環和西營盤，是弧形街道，東連皇后街，西接德輔道西。

在開埠初期是香港的經濟活動集中地，由於鄰近上環南北行，藥材商於南北行地段飽和後，就紛紛把商行移至高陞街發展。亦因鄰近碼頭，有利藥材貨物上下裝卸，因而吸引不少藥材店鋪在此開業。

約在1890年，高陞街是由香港富商李陞先生在上環皇后大道西投資建屋之時而成的；並因位於李氏所建的高陞戲院後面，因而名為高陞街。

至今，高陞街仍保留著發行中藥的店鋪。

上環街市北座大樓於 1989 年已停用空置。直至1991年，市區重建局(前土地發展公司) 展開修葺工程，將之改建為傳統行業及手工藝中心，並易名“西港城”。 於 2003 年再進行翻新工程，交由德藝會有限公司管理，並運用活化再利用的概念，增添主題餐廳及多家特色商店，為西港城及周邊環境注入新的經濟生命力，成為匯聚古蹟、商貿、美食、藝術的香港文物。

The market building became vacant. Until 1991, Urban Renewal Authority (URA) (The former Land Development Corporation) converted the market into a center of traditional traders, arts and crafts and renamed it as "the Western Market". The refurbishment taken place again in 2003.
Adopting the concept of adaptive-reuse, the building has been brought back to their useful economic life by accommodating theme restaurant and boutique shops that turning the building and the vicinity into a place for lifestyle shopping and leisure activities.

今天的西港城內有四層，因而分了四個區域，分別是鋪、布、食、藝。就讓小白鞋為大家介紹吧！

The Western Market has four floors recently which had divided into four areas. namely shop, cloth, food and art.
